Copilot Prompt Gallery Updates at Ignite
We are excited to announce new features in the Copilot Prompt Gallery (formerly Copilot Lab), designed to enhance AI value and engagement within your organization:
Image input support in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot
Starting in late-December, Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot users signed in with an Entra account will be able to upload images in both Work and Web copilot and ask Copilot questions about the image, such as for Copilot to analyze or describe it. Users will be able to take pictures using their mobile cameras or upload images directly to Copilot from their devices. This functionality will be available when using Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot from following locations:
Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Gain policy insights with Microsoft 365 Copilot for Security
Microsoft 365 Copilot for Security in Data Loss Prevention now includes Policy Insights, enabling admins to understand and align DLP policies better. Public Preview begins mid-November 2024, with General Availability in early January 2025. Not designed for US government clouds. Admins need Security Computer Units to prepare.
Microsoft Teams: Seamlessly share apps and Microsoft 365 Copilot agents
Microsoft Teams will soon allow seamless sharing of apps and Microsoft 365 Copilot agents, with new features enhancing the sharing experience. Rollout begins mid-December 2024, with general availability by late January 2025. No Copilot license is needed to share, but is required to use apps and agents.
Viva Pulse experience will be included with Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription
Microsoft Viva Pulse will be included with the Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription, rolling out early to mid-December 2024. Users with Copilot or Viva Pulse premium licenses can create and send Pulse surveys. Full access requires a premium license. Rollout requires no admin action and features will be enabled by default.

Dynamics 365 Field Service – Summarize records with Copilot in the mobile app
We are announcing the introduction of the Summarize Records with Copilot feature for Dynamics 365 Field Service. This enhancement enables technicians to quickly access a summary of their work orders, including key details and contextual information within the mobile application. This feature will become generally available in the Dynamics 365 Field Service mobile app on January 13, 2025.
Dynamics 365 Field Service – Summarize work orders with Copilot in the mobile app general availability
We are announcing the Summarize work orders with Copilot in the mobile app feature for Dynamics 365 Field Service. With this feature, technicians get the ability to summarize their work orders with Copilot within the Field Service mobile application. The summary provides them with meaningful context of the work they are about to perform. It can include notes, diagnostic information, key events in the work order lifecycle, and recommendations. This feature will reach general availability on January 13, 2025.
Copilot for Sales – Extend email drafts with file links from third-party systems
We are announcing the Extend email drafts with file links from third-party systems feature for Copilot for Sales. This feature allows you to add content and links from external, third-party systems to emails. This feature will reach general availability on December 17, 2024.
Microsoft 365 network connectivity test tool supports Microsoft 365 Copilot public preview
The Microsoft 365 network connectivity test tool will soon support Microsoft 365 Copilot in Public Preview, allowing testing of network connectivity, WebSocket enablement, and latency. It will be available from early to mid-December 2024 and can be accessed from dedicated URLs, including on mobile devices. The rollout will be automatic, with no admin action required beforehand.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat: Prompt autosuggestions rollout will start soon
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat will soon introduce a prompt autosuggestion feature for the Work tab, aiding in prompt discovery and recall. Rollout begins mid-December 2024, completing by late January 2025. It requires a Copilot license and will be available by default post-rollout. Organizations should inform users about the phased feature availability.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat: Improved Context IQ menu for better Copilot results
The message announces the upcoming release of an improved Context IQ menu for Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat, which will enhance user experience by providing better search performance and more intuitive interactions. The rollout will begin mid-December 2024 and complete by mid-January 2025. This feature will be on by default.
Microsoft Outlook: Prepare for your meeting with Microsoft 365 Copilot
Coming soon to Microsoft Outlook: Microsoft 365 Copilot can help you prepare for upcoming meetings by summarizing key information about a meeting such as the purpose, action items, pre-reads and related discussions. Copilot summarizes based on meeting related information found on the Microsoft Graph and provides a unique summary for each attendee based on the content they have permission to access.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Write a prompt for selected portions of text in Word
Writing a prompt to draft content based on your selection no longer expands your selection to the entire paragraph, table, or list. You can prompt based on a single sentence or item.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Referenced sources are cited in drafted content
When drafting content that’s based on referenced sources, Copilot includes citations in the text it generates, indicating references to information in the content.

OneDrive: Ask Copilot questions about images
Now, you can ask questions about images stored in your OneDrive. Select up to 5 images and ask questions like explaining the contents of an image or extracting relevant text from an image. This feature requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will be available to commercial customers on OneDrive Web.
Microsoft Teams: Pop out Chat, Copilot, and Notes panes in meetings
Microsoft Teams will soon allow users to pop out Notes, Chat, and Copilot panes during meetings. This feature, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 421607, will be available with a Copilot license and will roll out from mid-January to late February 2025. No admin action is required for this update.

Copilot includes files and meetings based on your recent activity when suggesting prompts you can use to draft a new document in Word.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Updated welcome screen for the Microsoft 365 app on Windows
The Microsoft 365 app welcome screen on Windows will be updated to display a welcome message and progress bar while the Microsoft 365 app loads.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Separation of the Copilot for Microsoft 365 retention policy location from Microsoft Teams chats
Today, admins must manage retention and deletion for Copilot for Microsoft 365 interactions using a retention policy location that also includes Microsoft Teams chats. This feature will provide a new location option to manage only Copilot for Microsoft interactions, separate from Microsoft Teams chats.
Microsoft 365 admin center: Admins can view Copilot agent usage in Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report
The Microsoft 365 admin center is introducing a feature to the Copilot usage report, showing active usage of Copilot agents. This does not require a Copilot license and will roll out from mid-December 2024 to early January 2025. No admin action is needed for the update.

Microsoft 365 file sensitivity labels in Copilot responses availability update
Microsoft 365 Copilot will soon display file sensitivity labels in Business Chat and enterprise data protection chat, consistent with other Microsoft 365 products. No action is needed; rollout begins January 2025. More information can be found on Microsoft’s roadmap and learning pages.

Power Automate – Use Copilot to analyze cloud flow runs
We are introducing the Copilot in Automation Center feature for Power Automate. This allows users to ask natural language questions about cloud and desktop flow activities, work queues, and Power Automate features. Users can gain insights into cloud flow trends, statuses, and performance. This feature will be generally available on January 25, 2025.
Power Platform – Copilot Studio Sharing Limits and Solution-aware cloud flow sharing limits
Sharing limits are a Managed Environment feature that allow administrators to limit how broadly resources in their tenant are shared. This enables administrators to control with whom or what their makers are allowed to share their resources with. Originally, sharing limits were only available for canvas apps, but we are now extending the platform’s capabilities to include agents created in Copilot Studio and solution-aware cloud flows in Power Automate.

Microsoft Copilot Studio – Solution management in Microsoft Copilot Studio
We are announcing Solution management in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature provides end-to-end application lifecycle management (ALM) capabilities within Copilot Studio that has deep integration with Microsoft 365. This feature reached general availability on December 16, 2024.
Power Apps – Create an app description with Copilot
We are launching Managed Environments. Available in Managed Environments, this AI feature allows makers to generate and save model-driven app descriptions. This feature will be will be generally available on January 14, 2025.

Microsoft 365 admin center: Enhancements to Copilot admin page
The Copilot page in the Microsoft 365 admin center is the dedicated place for managing Copilot. It will soon feature four sections: Overview, Health, Discover, and Settings. Overview will provide key metrics and insights including active user rate, AI assistance score, Copilot-assisted hours, and user sentiment. Health will consolidate Copilot-specific health insights such as device update status for Microsoft 365 apps, distribution of devices with diagnostic data, Copilot-specific message center posts, and known active issues. Discover will allow you to explore Copilot capabilities, understand user eligibility requirements, and access curated resources. These resources will cover compliance standards, adoption guidance, the Copilot prompt library, and more. You can also purchase Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses here. Settings will offer essential controls to configure Microsoft 365 Copilot to meet your organization’s needs and navigate to other key control surfaces including agent management and data security and compliance settings.

Microsoft Viva: Leaders can use Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Insights
Microsoft Viva Insights will soon integrate Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling leaders to analyze organizational data and generate reports. New features include query capabilities and Copilot-driven reports. The update requires a Viva Insights premium license and will be available on various Teams platforms, with a Public Preview in December 2024 and General Availability in January 2025. No additional Copilot license is needed.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Enrichment of Messages in Business Chat
This feature is designed to enhance your communication experience by making it easier to understand and interact with your chat messages in Business Chat. With this feature, you will see cards and hoverable experiences that provide additional details of the chat without leaving your current view. This means you can quickly grasp the context of your conversations and find the information you need more efficiently.

The Microsoft 365 admin center’s Copilot page will be updated with an enhanced Overview section and a new Health section. Rollout starts late January 2025 and ends by late March 2025, requiring no license or admin action prior to rollout.
Word: Chat with Copilot about selected text
Start a chat with Copilot while text in your document is selected, and Copilot’s response will be scoped to what you have selected.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Gain DLP policy insights with Copilot
Copilot for Security in DLP can summarize DLP policies. This enhancement enables DLP admins to gain insights on coverage of policies viz. location, classifiers and notifications, and more.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Clipchamp Copilot video creator
Create a video draft on any topic by providing a prompt. Clipchamp will create a video using stock video and music with an AI-generated voiceover on the topic.

Viva Learning: AI and Copilot Resources Provider visibility
The AI and Copilot Resources Provider will be visible by default to users with Copilot licenses in Microsoft 365, with rollout starting late December 2024. Admins can manage visibility and permissions for this content, which will also be searchable by users. No admin action is required for the rollout.
Copilot for Sales – Share records when composing emails in Outlook
We are announcing the share records when composing emails in Outlook feature for Copilot for Sales. This feature will make it easy to find and show a rich embedded adaptive card to recipients. Typing the ‘/’ key followed by the name of the record automatically completes a CRM record name and adds it to the email. This feature will reach general availability on January 20, 2025.

Custom agent adoption metrics and insights report in Viva Insights analyst workbench. Scope includes custom agents created in Copilot Studio, insights are aggregated on the agent-level.
Microsoft Teams: Using Copilot agents in group chats
Microsoft Teams will soon allow users to add Microsoft 365 Copilot agents to group chats for increased productivity, without needing a Copilot license. The feature will roll out in early February 2025 and will be available on various desktop platforms and the web. It will be enabled by default but can be disabled if desired.
Microsoft Copilot in Edge: New contextual features like page summary on Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat “Work” tab
Starting mid-January 2025, Microsoft Copilot in Edge will add page summarization and contextual queries to the Work tab in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat. Users will need a Copilot license to access these features, which can be managed by admins using the EdgeEntraCopilotPageContext policy. Rollout completion is expected by late January 2025.
