Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): General availability for the GCC environment
Microsoft Copilot will be generally available for the GCC environment and will be delivered with web grounding OFF by default. This is required to help protect US government sensitive information which should not leave the GCC compliance boundary.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Your AI assistant in the GCC environment
Bringing Microsoft 365 Copilot GCC, your AI assistant for work in the GCC environment. It combines the power of Large Language Models with your work content and context, to help you draft and rewrite, summarize and organize, catch up on what you missed, and get answers to questions via open prompts. Copilot generates answers using the rich, people-centric data and insights available in the Microsoft Graph. Microsoft Copilot extending to Teams and Outlook
Starting mid-November 2024, Microsoft Copilot will be available for pinning in Teams and Outlook for Entra account users. Admins can control the pinning, and it’s not pinned by default. Users can access it directly if pinned. The rollout is expected to complete by end of December 2024.
Microsoft Copilot 365 in Viva Glint will support the summarization of employee survey comments
Starting November 2024, Microsoft Copilot 365 in Viva Glint will summarize employee survey comments, identify themes, and suggest actions. It requires a Viva Glint license and admin configuration. Public Preview begins June 2024, with General Availability in November 2024. Roadmap ID: 324079.

Microsoft Teams: Copilot agents in Teams group chats
Now users can discover and add Copilot agents to group chats in Teams to extend Microsoft Copilot to their flow of work.
Microsoft Places – Space analytics with Copilot
In space analytics, use Copilot to analyze and explain key data points and trends in your space utilization graphs. It compares current utilization metrics such as occupancy, desk usage, and room bookings against previous time periods (e.g. last month, last quarter), highlighting important changes and trends.
Microsoft Teams: Copilot agents in Teams group chats

Microsoft 365 app: Microsoft Places – Managed booking with Copilot
Building on booking suggestions, Copilot’s managed booking feature rebooks room declines for single and recurring meetings, especially when room availability varies week to week. Additionally, Copilot will handle any changes, updates, and conflicts to guarantee a room for your meetings.
All installed agents (including erstwhile Microsoft 365 Copilot plugins) can now be accessed via one location in Copilot
All Microsoft 365 Copilot agents, including plugins, are being centralized to the right pane for a unified user experience. Web content control is moving to the top screen menu. The updates will roll out from late November 2024 to January 2025, requiring no action from admins.

Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management: Separate Copilot retention policies from Teams chats
Microsoft is separating Copilot retention policies from Teams chats, allowing admins to create distinct retention policies for Copilot interactions. This change requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and will be available in Public Preview from mid-November 2024, with General Availability starting mid-January 2025.
Copilot Studio – Solution management in Microsoft Copilot Studio
We are announcing the Solution Management feature for Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature is designed to manage copilots and their components including knowledge, topics, actions and more. This feature will reach general availability on November 15, 2024.

Copilot Studio – Use application lifecycle management
We are announcing the use application lifecycle management feature for Copilot Studio. This feature will enable makers to easily move plug-ins created in Microsoft Copilot Studio from one Power Platform environment to another using a solution. This feature is now generally available.
Copilot Studio – Use Generative Actions
We are announcing the use generative actions feature in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature will allow you to replace the traditional natural language-based approach for topic triggering (using the trigger phrases you’ve defined in each topic). Instead, your copilot uses GPT to select one or more topics or actions to respond to a user’s query.
Dynamics 365 Field Service – Configure Copilot summaries in Field Service
We are announcing the configure Copilot summaries in Field Service feature for Dynamics 365 Field Service. This feature will provide admins with additional control over the specific data that is included in summaries. This feature will reach general availability on December 16, 2024.
Copilot for Sales – Benefit from enhanced email summaries and drafts with meeting suggestions
We are announcing the enhanced email summaries and drafts with meeting suggestions feature for Copilot for Sales. This feature will allow users to utilize Copilot for drafting emails and generating email summaries. This feature will be released on December 16, 2024.

Quick Actions with Copilot directly on OneNote canvas – Rewrite, Summarize, Todo
OneNote for Win32 introduces Copilot quick actions on the canvas, including Rewrite, Summarize, and Todo. The update, linked with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 417476, will roll out from mid-November to mid-December 2024, enhancing feature discoverability and notetaking efficiency. Admins should inform users about the update.

Microsoft Viva: Microsoft Copilot Dashboard filter and other dashboard enhancements
Introducing exciting new features to help you better understand and improve adoption and impact of Copilot for Microsoft 365 through the Copilot Dashboard. Enhancements include the following: supporting multi-select capabilities for Scope filters to facilitate group comparisons and the ability to upload HR organizational data for Scope filter updates; and synchronized date ranges across the Readiness and Adoption pages for consistency and ease of analysis.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Gain DLP policy insights with Copilot
Copilot for Security in DLP is capable of summarizing DLP policies. This enhancement enables DLP admins to gain insights on coverage of policies viz. location, classifiers and notifications, and more.
Microsoft Copilot: New user control for web searches
Microsoft Copilot will introduce a user control for web searches, allowing users to enable or disable sending queries to Bing. Rollout starts mid-December 2024 and should complete by late January 2025. Admins can disable this feature, and no action is required for the rollout.
Microsoft 365 Copilot can access Microsoft Viva Engage content
Microsoft 365 Copilot will soon access Viva Engage content, including question posts in public communities and Answers, to provide relevant responses. This feature requires a Copilot license and will be available on web and mobile platforms, starting mid-December 2024 and completing by late January 2025. No admin action is needed for the rollout.

Microsoft 365 admin center: New usage reports for Microsoft Copilot with enterprise data protection
A new Microsoft Copilot usage report will be added to the Microsoft 365 admin center in mid-November 2024, providing insights into active usage and enterprise data protection. This report includes user activity metrics and trends, and will be available by default with no required admin action.
Microsoft Copilot Now Available for B2B Members in Multi-Tenant Organizations (MTO)
Microsoft Copilot is now available for B2B members in MTOs, with a new Teams policy for IT admin control. Rollout begins mid-December 2024, with completion by late December. The policy is enabled by default but can be disabled in the Teams Admin Center.
Power Automate – Copilot created flow regeneration feature
On December 13, 2024, a new feature will be introduced that allows users to regenerate flows created by Copilot.

Users will be able to search for and select Teams Chats in ContextIQ to scope their prompts in BizChat.
Microsoft OneNote Copilot Chat is coming to iPad and Mac desktops
Microsoft OneNote Copilot Chat is coming to Mac desktops and iPad. OneNote Copilot Chat is an intelligent assistant, transforming the way users interact with their notes. Users enter natural language prompts, and Copilot helps them understand, summarize, and rewrite notes for enhanced clarity and purpose. This feature will be available to all commercial accounts with a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

Microsoft Teams: In-meeting Chat, Copilot, Notes, panes can be popped out from the meeting window
When you are in meetings or calls, you will be able to pop out, drag, and resize your meeting panes from the meeting window. This includes Chat, Copilot, and Notes side panes.
Microsoft Viva: Viva Insights – New Copilot with enterprise data protection prompt metric
A new metric counting the prompts submitted through Business Chat (web) or Copilot with enterprise data protection metric will be added to Viva Insights advanced insights and Copilot dashboard.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Discover, acquire, and manage agents through in-app store in Word and PowerPoint
With Copilot extensibility, users can discover, acquire, and manage agents through the unified store. We are excited to introduce the Microsoft 365 unified store to Office documents, enabling users to discover, acquire, and manage agents directly within the in-app store for Word and PowerPoint, with Excel support coming soon.
Microsoft Teams: Summarize files shared in Teams chat with Copilot
Summarize action on files shared in Teams chat, will allow users to summarize files with one click using Copilot within one-on-one or group chats. It will work on common file types like Word and PDF to start with and other formats will be added over due course. This requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Viva Connections cards in Microsoft 365 Copilots
Microsoft 365 Copilot brings Viva Connections cards to conversations. When a card is relevant for a specific topic, the card will surface in the conversation chat and users will be able to interact with it directly from Microsoft 365 Copilot without interrupting the user’s flow.
Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) – AI enabled file summaries on Teams mobile
Quickly get a summary of Word, PPT, and PDF files that were shard with you in chat, without leaving your flow of work. Tap the summary icon on the file, and get a summary generated by Copilot. Now you can consume and comprehend the content without reading the entire document on a small mobile screen.
Copilot for Power Automate – Copilot provides more accurate answers to questions
We are announcing the Copilot provides more accurate answers to questions feature for Copilot for Power Automate. This feature lets Copilot give better and more accurate answers and will be available on December 31, 2024.

Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting
Now, Copilot in Teams can analyze content shared on-screen during a meeting when recording is enabled. This, along with meeting transcript and meeting chat, enables users to ask Copilot to summarize or find specific information from screen-shared content (e.g., ‘Which products had the highest sales?’), consolidate insights across both the conversation and presentation (e.g., ‘What was the feedback per slide?’), and draft new content based on the entire meeting (e.g., ‘Rewrite the paragraph shared on the screen incorporating the feedback from the chat’). This works for any content shared while sharing your desktop screen (including but not limited to documents, slides, spreadsheets, and websites, irrespective of platform or app). Support for PowerPoint Live and Whiteboard in Teams will be available at a later date.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Create with Copilot in Excel generates templates and tables
Create with Copilot in Excel helps customers write prompts to generate tailored templates and tables, using multi-turn conversion to refine the table schema, formulas, and visuals.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): BizChat – File Sensitivity Labels in Copilot web grounding chat
Copilot web grounding chat responses will now show content sensitivity labels for prompts in which a user has attached or uploaded a Microsoft 365 file like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in Business Chat web mode and Microsoft Copilot chat.
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): BizChat – Edge contextual capabilities in Business Chat work mode
In Business Chat work mode, users can ask Copilot questions about web pages and PDFs opened in the Edge browser using page context, such as “summarize this page”. This feature is currently also available in Business Chat web mode.
OneDrive: Catch up with Copilot
With Copilot, you will be able to catch up on important updates such as a summary of new “at” mentions that need your attention, new changes made to files you’ve been active in, and quick snippets of new files shared with you. Catch up will be available in OneDrive Web for our commercial customers and requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license. Catch up will initially work for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
OneDrive: Convert Copilot response into a Word file
Like a summary or FAQ that Copilot generated for you? Now, with one click, you can convert any Copilot response into a Word document. This feature requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will be available to commercial customers on OneDrive Web.
OneDrive: Ask Copilot questions on meeting recordings
Select a meeting recording in your OneDrive and ask Copilot to recap the meeting, highlight parts where you were mentioned, or recommend action items and next steps. This feature requires a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will be available to commercial customers on OneDrive Web.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Data Loss Prevention to restrict Microsoft 365 Copilot processing on content with sensitivity labels
Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention is extended to Microsoft 365 Copilot. This feature will allow DLP policies to provide detection of sensitivity labels in enterprise grounding data and restrict access of the content in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Microsoft Purview: Data Security Posture Management with Copilot (preview)
Coming soon for Microsoft Purview: Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) identifies vulnerable configurations across your critical data assets and allows for quick corrective actions. It combines insights from user and data risk in Purview solutions, offering a comprehensive view of insufficient controls to protect your data. Also, data security and compliance admins can use Microsoft Security Copilot’s summarization and natural language features embedded in DSPM. These capabilities expedite action and help analysts at all levels identify and address data security gaps efficiently.
Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Restrict Microsoft 365 Copilot using content with sensitivity labels (preview)
Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) will soon extend to support Microsoft 365 Copilot. DLP policies will be able to identify sensitive documents based on sensitivity labels and exclude processing for Copilot interactions in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat.

Microsoft Teams: Copilot in Meetings will suggest follow up questions to ask it
When Copilot in Teams Meetings responds to a prompt, it will also suggest follow ups to keep the conversation going. These questions will generally be based on the response it gave prior, and could be related to honing in on a particular topic, asking for more details, or asking what a particular person said during the meeting.
OneNote: Copilot Pages in OneNote
Access Copilot pages inside OneNote, along with all of your notes.
Microsoft 365 Copilot: New user license requests
Coming soon: A new license request feature for Microsoft 365 Copilot will be widely available. This new capability allows users to request a Microsoft 365 Copilot license directly from their admin. This helps you efficiently assign unused licenses or purchase additional ones as needed. Global admins, license admins, and user admins will be able to manage these requests seamlessly in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: An easier way for users to delete Copilot activity history button in their Microsoft Account
Coming soon in Microsoft Teams: An easier way for user to delete their Copilot account history from all applications. When users select Open Copilot activity history in Teams, they will be taken directly to the Settings & Privacy page in their My Microsoft account. This new entry point applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for iOS/Android. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to access this feature.
Microsoft 365 admin center: Business Chat usage in Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report
The Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center will be updated to show total usage of Business Chat and split usage of Business Chat (work) and Business Chat (web). Business Chat (web) usage is currently limited to Microsoft Edge and Microsoft 365 App, but more apps will be added over time. The Business Chat (work) usage in Edge and Microsoft 365 App was already captured in the report as part of the Business Chat (work) metric, but now we are breaking them out in the adoption by app chart. In the user level table, the last activity dates are added for Business Chat (web), Edge, and Microsoft 365 App.

Microsoft 365 Copilot now available to Viva Insights analysts
Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft Viva Insights simplifies the query-building process for analysts by recommending templates, metrics, filters, and attributes relevant to their analysis. After this rollout, analysts can view and build their reports more efficiently using Copilot’s assistive features. Licenses required: Viva Insights or Microsoft Viva Suite.
